Office Buildings

HVAC systems for modern Class "A" office buildings demand optimum efficiency and performance. This is especially true for these buildings due to the many tenants inhabiting the numerous floors. How does an operator keep everyone happy? How can the hundreds or thousands of controls be monitored easily? Computrols has mastered the graphical interface demands of building operators. Tree navigation is employed to ensure a user not only knows exactly what screen they are viewing, but the relation of that screen to all other areas of the building.

Floor View - A Layer Showing Ducts And VAVs
Computrols' graphics interface allows users the freedom to view a floor in multiple layers. Instead of just showing rooms that can be clicked on to monitor, we've gone further in this example by providing comm line, duct, and floor only views for each side of every floor (east and west). By giving operators the ability to see where ducts feed to, they can diagnose and even predict behaviors of the HVAC system. VAVs and thermostats are even mapped so a user can see the relationship to their respective rooms.

AHU View
From any floor view, the AHU link can be clicked to reach the AHU view. This view shows the status of the AHU and the temperature variance of each VAV connected to that AHU. From one screen all these devices can be monitored. Each VAV in the list is even linked to a unique screen with its own status information.

Cooling Tower View
The penthouse of this building includes a cooling tower system that must be monitored. Detailed animations of pumps and the tower itself were developed so when an user engages these devices, it's clear that they are operating. Details on the system are clearly readable and well organized.
